Frequently asked questions
Last updated 10 August 2026
The questions we get asked most often, answered plainly. If yours is not here, email us and a real person will get back to you.
01Ordering and payment
Do I need an account to order?
No. You can check out as a guest with your email address and an Australian delivery address. An account is optional and only makes it easier to find your orders later.
How do I pay?
Payment is handled by Stripe at checkout. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe, and we never see or store your full card number.
Which payment methods can I use?
Card payments go through Stripe. The exact options you are offered, including cards and, where your device supports it, Apple Pay or Google Pay, are the ones Stripe shows in the payment form at checkout.
We do not take PayPal, bank transfer or direct deposit.
Do you have gift cards or discount codes?
Not at the moment. There is no gift card and no promo code field at checkout.
What currency are prices in, and do they include GST?
All prices are in Australian dollars and payment is taken in AUD. Where GST applies, the price shown includes it.
Is an item held for me while it sits in my bag?
No. Your bag lives in your own browser and nothing is set aside until you fill in your address and move through to the payment step.
Graded slabs are one of a kind, so if someone gets there first you will see a sold out notice at checkout and can remove that item and carry on with the rest of your order.
Can I change or cancel my order?
You can cancel any time before we dispatch, as set out in our Terms of Service. There is no cancel button on the site, so email us at alvinhe9@gmail.com with your order number and we will sort it out.
02Shipping and delivery
How much is shipping?
Shipping is priced from live Australia Post rates for your postcode and what is in your bag, and the exact fee is shown at checkout before you pay. Until you enter a postcode we show a $9.70 estimate, which is also the flat fee we fall back to if a live rate is not available.
There is no free shipping threshold, so a fee applies to every order.
Do you ship internationally?
No. We ship within Australia only. Checkout takes an Australian state or territory and a four digit Australian postcode.
Who do you post with?
Orders are sent tracked and insured within Australia, priced on live Australia Post rates, normally standard Parcel Post or a Parcel Post satchel.
Can I pay for Express Post?
Not at the moment. Checkout shows a single shipping option rather than a choice of services.
How long will delivery take?
We do not quote a delivery window. Any timeframe is an estimate only and is not guaranteed, and once the parcel is with the carrier the timing is out of our hands. The wording is in our Terms of Service.
How quickly do you post an order out?
We aim to process and dispatch within a reasonable handling time after payment clears, and we email your tracking number as soon as it ships, usually within one business day. Handling can be slower over peak periods and public holidays.
How do I track my order?
We email you a tracking number when your order ships. It is not shown on your order page at the moment, so it is worth hanging on to that email. If you have lost it, email us at alvinhe9@gmail.com with your order number and we will look it up.
What happens if my parcel comes back undelivered?
We will get in touch to arrange re-delivery, and you may be asked to pay an additional shipping fee to have it sent again. It is worth double checking your address at checkout.
03Our cards
What do you sell?
Are the cards genuine?
Yes. Our Terms of Service commit us to selling only genuine Pokémon TCG product, and we do not knowingly sell counterfeits, reproductions or proxy cards.
Which grading companies do you list?
Mainly PSA, BGS (Beckett) and CGC, and you will also see SGC and ACE in the shop filters. If you are weighing the graders up, we have a guide on PSA vs BGS vs CGC.
Do you guarantee the grade on a slab?
The grade is the grading company's opinion at the time it assessed the card, and we pass it through exactly as assigned rather than re-checking the card inside the case.
If a slab does not match the grade and grader stated in the listing, that is a major failure and you choose the remedy.
Do the photos show the actual item I will get?
On a graded card's page you can switch between the card art and a photo of the actual slab, where one has been uploaded. Sealed product listings use our own photo of the item.
Single card thumbnails in the shop grid, raw and graded alike, use the official catalogue scan of that card rather than a photo of the individual copy.
Do you open sealed product to check it?
No. Sealed product is never opened, and we describe it from the manufacturer's packaging. If a sealed item arrives that has clearly been opened, that is a major failure and you choose the remedy.
Our guide on spotting a resealed booster box covers what to look for.
What does a preorder listing mean?
It is a sealed item we have listed ahead of release. Preorders show no price and cannot be added to your bag or reserved. Where we have a confirmed release date we show it, and otherwise the listing just reads coming soon.
There is no waitlist, so it is worth checking back once it lands.
04Card condition
Which card-condition standard does PokeStore use?
We follow the TCGplayer Card Conditioning Standards, updated March 2025 for raw singles. This gives buyers and us the same measurable definition instead of treating NM, LP, MP, HP and DMG as a matter of taste.
Each imperfection has a severity score: Slight = 1 point, Minor = 2 points, Moderate = 4 points, Major = 8 points. A card must stay within both the allowed flaw types and the total point ceiling for its condition.
- NM allows up to 3 points.
- LP allows up to 6 points.
- MP allows up to 12 points.
- HP allows up to 24 points.
- DMG applies above 24 points or whenever an automatic-damage flaw applies.
What counts as NM (Near Mint)?
Minimal handling or play wear. Up to 3 points from permitted imperfections; no surface wear, grime, bend, fault or damage.
- Slight edgewear
- Slight scuffing
- One slight indentation
- Minor scratches
- Slight manufacturing defects
- Not allowed at NM: Surface wear, Grime, Bend, Fault, Damage.
What counts as LP (Lightly Played)?
Visible handling or play wear. Up to 6 points; no fault or automatic-damage flaw.
- Minor edgewear, scratches, scuffing or indentation
- One minor bend without a crease
- Slight surface wear or grime
- Minor manufacturing defects
- Not allowed at LP: Fault, Damage.
What counts as MP (Moderately Played)?
Significant visible wear. Up to 12 points; damage that affects integrity is not permitted.
- Moderate edgewear, scratches, scuffing or indentation
- A moderate bend or crease
- Minor surface wear, grime or manufacturing defects
- A slight fault
- Not allowed at MP: Damage.
What counts as HP (Heavily Played)?
Heavy, obvious wear. Up to 24 points; tears, punctures, foreign substances and other automatic-damage flaws are not permitted.
- Major edgewear, scratches, scuffing or indentation
- A major bend
- Moderate surface wear or manufacturing defects
- Major grime or a minor fault
- Not allowed at HP: Damage.
What counts as DMG (Damaged)?
More than 24 points, or an automatic-damage flaw such as a tear, puncture, split, foreign substance, non-manufacturing ink or integrity-affecting damage.
- All imperfection severities, with the specific damage disclosed
Where do the condition measurements come from?
The detailed thresholds below follow TCGplayer's Understanding Card Condition Imperfections guide.
How do you measure edgewear and whitening?
- Slight: one contiguous area up to 20mm along the card edge (1 point).
- Minor: more than 20mm and up to 80mm (2 points).
- Moderate: more than 80mm and up to 160mm (4 points).
- Major: more than 160mm (8 points).
- Edgewear extending more than 0.5mm inward from the edge is measured as surface wear instead.
How do you measure scratches?
- Slight: up to 20mm long (1 point).
- Minor: more than 20mm and up to 40mm long (2 points).
- Moderate: more than 40mm long (4 points).
- Major: a severe score or gouge (8 points).
How do you measure scuffing and clouding?
- Slight: up to 31.5mm² (1 point).
- Minor: more than 31.5mm² and up to 277.2mm² per instance (2 points per instance, up to four instances per card).
- Moderate: total scuffing on one side, meaning no clear 5mm × 5mm area remains (4 points).
- Major: total scuffing on both sides (8 points).
How do you measure surface wear?
- Slight: up to 2.5mm² (1 point; LP at best).
- Minor: more than 2.5mm² and up to 10mm² (2 points; MP at best).
- Moderate: more than 10mm² and up to 40mm² (4 points; HP at best).
- Major: more than 40mm² (8 points and DMG).
How do you measure bends and creases?
- Minor: up to 10mm with no crease (2 points; LP at best).
- Moderate: up to 20mm or any bend showing a crease (4 points; MP at best).
- Major: more than 20mm (8 points; HP at best unless integrity is affected).
How do you measure indentations?
- Slight: one pinpoint that does not show through the card (1 point).
- Minor: up to 4mm² and not visible through the reverse (2 points).
- Moderate: more than 4mm² and up to 25mm², or visible through the reverse (4 points).
- Major: more than 25mm² (8 points).
- A linear indent is not NM; up to 20mm is minor, 20–50mm is moderate, and more than 50mm is major.
How do you measure grime?
- Slight: up to 2.5mm² (1 point; LP at best).
- Minor: more than 2.5mm² and up to 13.75mm² (2 points).
- Moderate: more than 13.75mm² and up to 27.5mm² (4 points).
- Major: more than 27.5mm² (8 points).
- A stain, sticky residue, mould or other foreign substance is damage rather than grime.
How do you measure manufacturing defects?
- Slight: up to 2.5mm² (1 point).
- Minor: more than 2.5mm² and up to 5mm² (2 points).
- Moderate: more than 5mm² and up to 10mm² (4 points).
- Major: more than 10mm² (8 points and DMG when integrity or authentication is affected).
- Curling up to 5mm of lift and centring up to 70/30 do not change condition under the source standard.
How do you measure faults?
- Slight: up to 2.5mm² (1 point; MP at best).
- Minor: more than 2.5mm² and up to 10mm² (2 points; HP at best).
- Moderate: more than 10mm² and up to 40mm² (4 points and DMG).
- Major: more than 40mm² (8 points and DMG).
How do you measure automatic damage?
- Any tear, puncture, hole, split card layers, missing piece, foreign substance or non-manufacturing ink is DMG.
- Liquid exposure, heat damage, alteration or another flaw affecting structure, playability or authentication is DMG.
- Curling that lifts the card more than 5mm from a flat surface is DMG.
- Significant card-image shifting or a miscut is DMG.
Who assesses the card, and when?
One of us checks every raw card against the standard above before it is listed, and the grade is recorded on the listing you buy from.
It is our own good faith opinion rather than a certified grade, and it is not a prediction of what a professional grader would give the card.
Is the condition guaranteed?
Condition assessment still involves judgement, but what we stand behind is that the card meets the sourced criteria listed above for the condition we sold it as.
Where judgement still comes into it, we take the reading that puts the card in the lower condition.
Does the picture show the actual raw card I will get?
No. Raw single listings use the official catalogue image of that card, which is the same image for every copy of it. The condition code is what describes the individual card you are buying.
If you want to see the actual card before you commit, email us at alvinhe9@gmail.com with the card and condition you are looking at and we will send photos. We would much rather do that than have a card arrive and disappoint you.
What if I think the condition is wrong?
Email alvinhe9@gmail.com with your order number, clear photos and the specific criterion you believe the card exceeds—for example, the measured length of contiguous edgewear and the total imperfection points.
That gives us both something specific to check rather than an argument about impressions. If the card falls outside the allowances for the grade we sold it as, we got it wrong and we will make it right.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply either way, including the guarantee that goods match their description, and nothing on this page limits them.
Will an NM card get a high grade if I send it away?
There is no way for us to promise that. Professional grading looks at centring, corners, edges and surface under magnification, and it regularly separates cards that look identical across a shop counter.
Our condition code describes the card as it is today. It is not a forecast of a PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC or ACE number, and a low grade coming back is not a fault in the card we described.
05Returns and problems
My item arrived damaged or not as described. What do I do?
Email us at alvinhe9@gmail.com with your order number and clear photos of the problem. For transit damage, get in touch as soon as you can, ideally within a few days of delivery, while the carrier's claim window is still open.
Keeping the item and its packaging as they arrived helps us with the claim, though your consumer guarantee rights are not lost if the packaging has already been thrown out.
Who pays for return postage?
On a consumer guarantee claim we pay for or arrange the return, and we cover the cost of sending any replacement.
On a change of mind return you pay the postage and are responsible for the item until it reaches us.
Can I return something because I changed my mind?
Possibly. It is a goodwill policy rather than a right, so you need to contact us within 14 days of receiving your order and get approval before sending anything back.
The item has to come back unused and in its original protection, with grader cases and factory seals intact.
Do I get the shipping fee back on a change of mind return?
No. Original shipping fees are not refunded on a change of mind return, though we do not charge a restocking fee on an approved one.
How and when do refunds come back?
Refunds are made in Australian dollars through Stripe, and normally go back to the original payment method used on the order. If that is not possible, for example because the card has expired, we will arrange another method with you.
We process approved refunds generally within 5 business days of approving your claim or receiving an approved return. How quickly the money then appears depends on your bank or card provider.
What happens if a listing had the wrong price?
If a price is obviously incorrect we are not obliged to supply at that price, even after your order has been acknowledged. We will always contact you before dispatch and let you choose between paying the correct price or cancelling for a full refund.
06Selling to us
How do I sell my collection to you?
Head to sell, upload a spreadsheet of what you have plus some photos, and leave your name, email, phone and address. We go through everything by hand and email you a no obligation offer.
Do I need an account to sell?
No. The form is open to anyone and there is no sign in.
What can I upload?
One spreadsheet (.xlsx, .xls, .csv or .ods, up to 10MB) and up to 30 photos (JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, HEIC or HEIF, up to 15MB each). You need at least a spreadsheet or one photo before the form will send.
Is sending the form a commitment to sell?
No. Sending it is not a binding sale, it just starts the conversation. We look it over and reply with an offer or any questions.
What sort of collections do you buy?
Pokémon TCG cards and sealed product. Send through what you have and we will take a look.
How do you pay for a collection?
That gets agreed by email after we make an offer. The form has one optional free text box for anything you want to tell us, and that is a good place to mention how you would like to be paid.
Why do you ask for my address?
It is collected as part of your contact details, alongside your name, phone and email, so we know who we are talking to. Anything to do with getting the collection to us is worked out in the follow up conversation.
07Your account and orders
How do I check on an order?
Go to orders. If you are signed in, your orders are listed there. If you checked out as a guest, use the lookup with your order number and the email you used at checkout. Order numbers look like PHB-7X4K2M.
The order lookup cannot find my order.
The email has to match what you typed at checkout exactly, including capital letters. Try it exactly as you entered it, and if it still will not come up, email us at alvinhe9@gmail.com with your order number.
How do I create an account?
I have forgotten my password.
There is no self-service password reset on the site yet. Email us at alvinhe9@gmail.com and we will help you get back in.
Will my guest orders show up if I make an account?
They will, as long as the email on your account is written exactly the same way as the one you used at checkout. The match is case sensitive, so it is worth using the same all lower case spelling both times.
If an older order does not appear, you can always find it through the lookup on orders using your order number and email.
Will you email me marketing?
Only if you tick the opt in when you sign up, and it is off by default. Opting out never stops your order and shipping emails.
There is more in our Privacy Policy, including the fact that we do not sell your personal information.
Still stuck? Email us at alvinhe9@gmail.com with your order number and we will help. For the full detail, see our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
